Quaint little Italian restaurant serves as a respite from Times Square. Located just a block off the crowded tourist attraction, Dopo has great atmosphere and some of the best Italian I've had in a long time.
Relatively new, Moscone Center West is a recent addition to the older and perhaps more familiar Moscone Center. Located just south of the Metreon parking garage and west of significant quantity of great SF hotels and restaurants.
Place needs some remodeling as it feels stuck in the eighties but the food is fresh and service good. Great choice for quick Mexican.
Very nice grounds; much more spacious than I realized. Good parking. Well designed facilities with exceptional space and convenient access to amenities.
Great cuisine to rival California's wine country. Impeccable service and a fantastic bar. The perfect atmosphere with a well designed layout and the right art adorning the walls.
In the up and coming art district, Fate draws the crowd with huge statues and pieces adorning the property, a DJ on weekends hosting a great outdoor bar, and fantastic Thai cuisine. Don't be confused, you are in the right place when you drive through a neighborhood of old homes... Fate, and the art district, are renovated old homes with the look and feel of a suburb, redone inside with amazing talent. My only criticism is that the Curry is a little bland.
I was shocked at how well Famiglia rivals Sbarro's. Consider it in the same class as far as the establishment is concerned but the pizza is quite good!
Give yourself almost 2 hours when traveling during peak times. Otherwise, PHX is a great airport with lots of shops, restaurants, and space to roam. Great parking gets you in and out and wait times for luggage are usually comfortable.
Small portions at Bocadillos appeal to almost any appetite with salads, seafood, meats and sandwiches. Service is light but the food is fresh and great.
I caught them at the 2008 Los Gatos Music in the Park and they had an unbelievable repertoire: Journey, Elton John, Jerry Lee Lewis... Highly recommend any event at which you can catch them
Downtown Los Gatos is almost without question the greatest community in the bay area. The atmosphere is laid back with a town park and fountain right off the main street. Unique restaurants and shopping line the two main roads and convenient parking makes it easy to get to the local movie theater, candy shop, or bars and night clubs.
Ice cream made in house with a few dozens flavors. Frozen yogurt is available. What I really love about this place is that they have a micro-cone; for $1 you can get a cone about the size of your thumb with a single scoop perfect for little kids or that afternoon treat!
A classic pre-starbuck's venue with great atmosphere, free wifi, art on the walls, and the occasional live music. Drinks are made to order and a light selection of baked goods keeps you filled to the brim. The world needs more of these places.
Conveniently located on the beach near all the parking at the end of the heart of Capitola. Great views of the colored homes for rent right near the pier with the cliffs near the beach off in the distance. Usually crowded because of the superb outdoor seating. Average food as you'd expect from a beach restaurant. Decent service.
I read an article once about how the famed pizza joints of the east coast are no where to be found in California, not because of our different taste in food but the lack of pizza as a part of the history and culture. Pizza ovens on the east coast are decades old, baking into the pizza's their rich flavor. Pizza parlors are places to hang out with the unique crushed ice in drinks, old video games, and a jukebox. Such amenities are rare here but Cicero's delivers with great pizza and that comfortable atmosphere where you can bring the family to relax!
The Taco Shop has great atmosphere and wonderful service. Just outside of the main part of town, it is a quick walk from the center of the action in Sausalito. I'm mixed on the margarita's; they are wine margarita's that don't use tequila but, well... wine. eh. But a nice bit of character none-the-less
I caught them at HP Pavilion in San Jose and just had a wonderful time. My girls were awestruck with their attention constantly held by the acts, lights and fireworks, and dancing. Asked of their favorite part, the list just went on... the elephants, the dogs, the flowers, the horses, no tigers, the gymnasts...
Only criticisms are the outrageous prices for food and other concessions and the animal rights protesters outside who, though I completely understand where they are coming from, should have a little more sense than to protest so overtly where so many toddlers and children are present.
Also, be careful with the inexpensive tickets. You can get to the circus for around $15 but the view is likely obstructed; we completely missed the trapeze artists and spent 15 minutes entertaining the kids.
Upstairs gives some decent views of downtown San Mateo while being above Draeger's Market and next to their kitchen gives the restaurant a feeling of community in an upscale dining experience.
This one excels with outdoor seating that is all too rare in the Bay Area. Located at Campbell's Pruneyard, convenient next to the movie theater, Cold Stone Creamery, and Coffee Society. Good steaks, chicken, and burgers. Great salad and reasonable prices.
Comfortable and convenient, Coffee Society has bucked the Starbucks' trend and remains a warm, inviting environment to grab coffee, drinks, or baked goods to read a book or do some work out of the office.
Great service and an amazing selection of Gelato flavors and desserts. Right next to Aqui, a fabulous new Mexican restaurant near the west end of downtown Campbell. Spacious interior loses them a half star as the place can feel empty but I applaud them for taking care of some outdoor seating which is so rare in the bay area!
Exceptional market with outstanding baked goods, deli, and other made foods. Mostly unusual or luxury brands. Great atmosphere and a good cafe.
I thought the breakfast was outstanding. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, all cooked to perfection. Service was... slow, questionable but the fact that they cater to both hotel guests (with continental breakfast) and diners wins them points.
The place is cavernous and tries to emulate an aura of exclusivity that it doesn't really deserve but... the staff is great and atmosphere really good. DJs could use some work, playing a wide variety of music rather than sticking with a theme people can get in to. All in all, a decent time.
Great entertainers all around who play to the crowd and bring an unbelievable performance to jazz clubs throughout Chicago. Usually found at Andy's Jazz Club, the group is made up of 6 players, young and old, who bring blues, Jazz, New Orleans, and Japanese (yes Japanese) music to the show. Well worth the cover charge and the ideal place to catch Chicago Jazz.
Andy's is the quintessential jazz bar, the kind you see in movies with great entertainers who play to the crowd, laugh, and have a good time. The food is average but you don't go for the food. Pay the cover (usually $10) and have a blast!! I went on a Monday night and heard a great mix of Chicago style blues, New Orleans Jazz, and Japanese (yes Japanese) flavor. Unbelievable!
The burgers are great and prices are right but the place could use a bit of a pick me up. Only real complaint is that this is probably the ONLY restaurant in the country where the large is a 12 oz. cup. No fried, just chips.
Well maintained facility right on Lake Michigan is constantly upgraded to bring the best dining, rides, and games to Chicago. The views of the city are spectacular and weather always enjoyable on the water (except the winter). Great place for large conventions and trade shows. Wonderful place to bring the family.
One of the best Mexican bars on the peninsula; spacious with an extensive tequila menu. Food is healthy and fresh with some twists including Thai chicken and other flavors. Order at a counter so not full service but an ideal choice for families or an inexpensive, great meal.
A nice walk through the woods or time near the water can't be beat. I used to come here all the time as a kid.
Tiered gardens with all types of flora create an intimate setting for a leisurely walk in Saratoga. Not too great for small children unless you prepare them for the stairs and lack of an opportunity to really play; that isn't a criticism, it was a nice trip with our 3 year old but we just walked and enjoyed the outdoors. Not a place for strollers.
Made with frozen yogurt, Planet Juice smoothies are almost dangerously good. Seriously, my wife and family have been back repeatedly since we found this one in Saratoga. Don't get me wrong, they are healthy and have options made even without frozen yogurt; they're just so good you'll spend your life's savings on them ;)
We got our bikes and equipment here and have nothing but great things to say about the staff which was helpful and a pleasure to chat with. Few complaints (they don't have EVERYTHING) but they are large enough that they supply just about everything you could want or need. Camping and other outdoor supplies look great. There are other REI stores in San Jose and around Saratoga, this best serves Los Gatos, Campbell, and Saratoga.
3rd floor of the Marriott hotel near Union Square. Off the lobby so stunning artwork, fountains, and an open ceiling create great atmosphere.
A bit out of character for him; not his usual outgoing personality but a a-hole in a part for which he was well suited. My only real complaint is that the story was not as thoroughly told as it should have been. I think it was an great, innovative perspective on the responsibility and burden that a super hero has (frankly, any one has) but the fact that they so significantly missed the depth and detail that could have gone into his history was a disappointment. Charlize Theron is reasonable in the film, Jason Bateman well cast. A heartwarming ending.
What a discovery! I wish I had known of Sanborn years ago, a great park up in the mountains not far from Los Gatos and Saratoga. Huge open field with lots of shade and room to play games, great hikes through the woods and over rocks. Climb through an enormous redwood or wade through the water. Come for the beauty and stay for the shows! A nice outdoor theater is being renovated and often hosts Shakespeare and other performances.
If this is what you are looking for... Eat Fresh!
Place is large for bay area real estate; could stand to be better cared for but it isn't bad. Sandwiches are what you'd expect.
Very well cast and the part well played. He may be a teen idol but he seems to have a bright future.
A good twist on the original story to bring a better message to screen. The cast is superb, songs are great, and story well written. Nice cameos from original cast members and John Waters.
I heard a rumor Elijah was working on a musical of the life of Sammy Davis Jr. - no idea if there is any truth to it but that is the best way to describe this guy, in every way positive. He's a brilliant singer and dancer with a great stage presence.
Perhaps the best west of the Mississippi. Considering the history and quality of tools available to making a pizza on the east coast, it is no surprise that Pizza west of there is rarely outstanding. These guys, who happen to be from Boston (I believe) have brought some of that success to the desert, and I applaud them.
Unfortunately it is the same style found throughout California: thin crust. Wide variety of options, quick custom pizzas, and reasonable prices make this a great choice though and the food is good! Also has gelato.
This stately looking old resort hotel continues to deliver perhaps the best service and atmosphere one can find so close to San Francisco. Excellent dining, beautifully kept lawns and gardens, superb accommodations and world class links golf.
It isn't the location or outstanding view so readily available at other HMB restaurants, its the quaint building in which the restaurant sits with a card/gift shop, book store, and small wine bar nestled in the same location. Good food, great service, and an intimate setting make this a perfect choice for a nice dinner, romantic or otherwise.
Granted they have a HUGE sign on the road but I'm always surprised at the crowds that are drawn to the places right off the 1 when Miramar has one of the best spots in Half Moon Bay. Right on the beach with enormous windows keep you entertained with the water day or night. Good food and great entertainment!
They have a great Maverick micro brew and the setting off the Half Moon Bay marina makes this the ideal location for some live music. Has one of the best outdoor seating options in the bay area so come prepared to get some sun!
Really! Watch the lights and fixtures closely and you'll see that the place is haunted. Great views from the cliff on which the distillery sits are accompanied by fire on the patio, great food, and outstanding service. One of the best of Half Moon Bay.
Wonderful location in the hotel Valencia in Santana Row. Immediately adjacent to an outdoor patio where fire and water mix to create a trendy environment outside the on site nightclub. Only critique is that the restaurant itself can feel empty at times; great choice for large groups.
Rivaled only by, maybe, Squid Roe, Cabo Wabo is perfectly situated amongst most of the other hot bars and clubs downtown. Near great restaurants like Mi Casa, Sammy's bar is the place to go for drinks, great live music, and a lot of fun.
Get a cheaper breakfast without the flies and strong breeze over at Grisoles. The food here is good, service great, and the views spectacular... if not for it being the most convenient location you really should eat at the other restaurants on Hacienda Del Mar.
Great food, reasonably priced, at a poolside grill on the beach of Cabo San Lucas. Hard to go wrong here! Only critique (hard to be perfect too) is the service wans and is sometimes hard to get an attentive experience.
Great prices and an outstanding selection of tequila which almost does live up the oft-used claim in Cabo San Lucas that this bar has the largest selection of tequila!
Wonderful cuisine and the perfect location for outdoor seating on the beach just minutes from Cabo San Lucas.
Go for breakfast and skip the other popular breakfast spot at Hacienda Del Mar (Tomatoes); Girasoles is a better deal with served all-you-can eat options. Dinner is where the magic begins with great views of the ocean and sunsets. Get the Mexican Coffee which is made at your table with an amazing production using fire to warm the drink. Dress warmly, though hot in Cabo, Girasoles is on the 4th story so the wind can whip through!
Perhaps the greatest resort I've visited, Hacienda del Mar is the perfect blend of adult and family fun with daily activities, a sports bar, and a perfect beach in a beautiful setting with multiple pools and 5 star restaurants. The service from the management costs them a half point in my review as they are less than accommodating and try to nickel and dime you with unforeseen costs (luckily they aren't too expensive); that said, the staff and service are else wise impeccable. Be sure to participate in the activities, local Dune Buggy rides or the zip line tours are outstanding.
One of the nicest qualities of Cabo San Lucas, over other destinations, is the 20 minute ride to almost any hotel from the airport. Be sure to get the $45 cab rate and not get dinged by the guys who claim it costs $75 to get to your resort. Also make sure to head downtown to Cabo for some of the best dining you'll find in Mexico. Need a taste of the US? Cabo has McDonalds, BK, Home Depot, Walmart, and Costco to make sure you don't long for something from home.
Avoid the time share sales pitch, or make sure you get a couple hundred dollars for it (it lasts a few hours, though they tell you only 75 minutes - and the 'closer' is often a sleezy car salesman just trying to get you to sign).
A brilliant layout with tiered seating (yes Tiered like a theater) in one room, tables near the kitchen in another, outdoor options throughout. Great live Mariachi music and exceptional service. Great for large groups as well as a small intimate dinner. You must have the home made tortillas.
I had the opportunity to catch him at a private event where I learned that he is heavily booked on Michigan's Mackinac Island, throughout NYC and around San Francisco.
But it is far too small. The staff is wonderful and "shows" great for toddlers but expect to spend and hour at most.
Great opportunity to catch one of the greatest bands in history live. Awesome opportunity to get tickets to a show with Modest Mouse.
Worth seeing in concert if you have a chance to go
Yes they have a significant loyal fan base but just take a look at the other negative reviews. Their sound has a uniqueness to it that is refreshing in this era of pop repetition and tickets to a show would be much appreciated here!
I was just reading an article about how Amy Winehouse's original voice is an appealing and attractive sound but after listening to it too much, we get bored and almost cringe at its repetition. Sorry, that to me is the sound of Carlos Santana's guitar. Yes, a great, unique sound, but on song after song after song after song after song....
Not for a unique sound which I'd argue isn't really original but for finding success with it in an industry where we don't break the mold and churn out song after song with the same voice, melody, and lyrics. I agree with some of the other reviewers that HER voice can get repetitive but her hits will hopefully live on as a beacon of hope in early 21st century pop.
She is a great songwriter and her music has been played by countless other artists before she decided to strike out on her own. I agree, I don't care for her voice and she got too much air time as far as I'm concerned but her talent can't be denied, a great pop song writer and lyricist worth catching if you have the chance.
Sure, it is a little like going to see one of those doowop performances you see on PBS with a much older crowd rocking out to music that now seems meant for kids but The Beach Boys not only revolutionized music with their summer sound but their innovative use of instruments and other sounds to bring to live new atmosphere. If they are on tour, get tickets now and go.
For anyone over 30, Chicago brings you back to your youth, either to a time when you rocked to their music or sat in the back of the car on a family trip while your parents ran the radio. A superstar band on tour again makes it well worth the tickets.
With magical song lyrics she is destined to greatness.
Years ago TCBY seemingly invented this fabulous combination of crepe and ice cream (yogurt) with whipped cream, hot sauces, etc. They soon after took it off the menu for no apparent reason as it was the ONLY thing I really loved at TCBY and how dare they cater to any one but me ;)
15 years later I stumble on this place and learn that not only is this a TCBY innovation abandoned to the ages but others can do it better! Dessert Republic's crepes are second to none and this is an outstanding addition to San Mateo.
Really. Sure there are far better films than some of his. Certainly directors as prolific in the past but were the quality of older films nearly as timeless? Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Men In Black, E.T., Goonies, Poltergeist, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.... the list goes on which now just entertaining films but movie icons and names which everyone knows and loves. If only he had played a role in Star Wars...
From Holes to Transformers, to Indiana Jones! Shia has exceptional comedic timing and tremendous talent as an action star. His role as Indiana Jones' son in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was not only an exceptional decision but shows that only he has the potential to actually step in to Harrison Ford's shoes and continue the Jones legacy. I just hope he doesn't let his talent go to his head.
That makes it almost sound like he is on his way to oldster movies like On Golden Pond but I don't mean it that way. His latest Indiana Jones film shows that he still has the magic, 20 years later! He has that face that never changes and talent on film that is just magic in any movie. A super star was born with Han Solo in Star Wars, a man who went on to make film icons such as Indiana and Blade Runner.
Masterfully maintains the Jones tradition with humor, mystery, and unbelievable action! If you were a fan of the first few, you'll love Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. If you couldn't suspend logic and enjoy the ride from the first Indiana Jones films, well, there is just no dealing with you. My ONLY complaint is that the extensive use a digital (an active decision by Spielberg) still comes across as fake compared to the quality of shots filmed on location. Sure, ILM skills are spectacular and the only way to create the fantastic scenes in the movie but they haven't perfected it such that some scenes aren't obviously digital. Go early to wait in line and buy tickets to save time.
Really glad they are finally posting events here so we can see what's going on. Wonderful facility with tremendous space for basketball courts, soccer fields, and a large pool. Really wish they had a hot tub!
Good selection of songs, some perhaps too slow for when he chooses to play them in the night but all good none the less. Only criticism is he tries to bring the foreign accent from his songs into his banter and well, he's no Irishman so while it works in the songs, it comes across as a Texan, Boston, NY drawl when he's chatting that's just too hard to understand.
The atmosphere, drinks, and craic can't be beat but their Irish fare leaves a bit to be desired. Shepherd's Pie that tastes like ground beef in marinara sauce, for example, leaves the palate hankering for the best of Ireland. Top choice for happy hour and great live music but visit Johnny Foley's because it is a pub, not a restaurant.
Only complaint is that they are overpriced, taking advantage of the resort crowd.
Superb steaks and sandwiches in one of the hottest environments you are going to find in Chicago. Want dinner in style you can only find in Las Vegas? N9ne is the steakhouse founded at the Palms Casino Hotel which continues to host A-list celebrities.
This excellent restaurant probably has the best setting in San Francisco. The bay bridge literally towers over its view of the bay and Treasure Island. Most tables have great views of the water and the seafood is sustainable and impeccable. Point off for the service. We waited over an hour after being told we'd be seated in minutes then it took the server a further hour to bring our food.
Lots of fun attracting laid back people out to have a good time.
Nice choice for a conference. Spectacular view of the planes at San Francisco airport. Good restaurants and reasonably priced.
In the spirit of Starbucks coffee far exceeding that of McDonald's, Caribou Coffee has nailed the atmosphere and comfort of a local coffee spot. With free wifi, pastries, teas, and other goods, this is where you want to go to relax for an hour or so.
The dough is superb and other baked goods remarkable. This bakery only has pizza for a few hours to serve the lunch crowd at prices well below what they could charge. Arrive early or you press your luck!
Superb pastas, a nice wine menu, and a quaint little place with Sinatra on the speakers to eat your fill. Huge portions.
The food is remarkable and reasonably priced. The place could use some decorating tips, a blend of trendy modern and antique, asian influence. Take out is just a good as their fine dinner.
Huge bar and nightclub with a quieter down stairs with the more easily accessible bar. This is one of the late night venues, open till 4, with the crowd not even picking up until 1 am. Points lost for exceptionally expensive drinks (we're talking San Francisco prices here) and a DJ who doesn't realize that the music is just a shade too loud (you can't hear yourself think loud). Good location as you can pop next store or across the street to a quieter but just as popular scene.
Trendy scene and one of the few places you can find people partying on a weeknight after 10 pm. Closes at 2 so this isn't your late night haunt. Good DJs and full bar.
Fabulously remodeled in both the lobby and rooms, a great lobby bar and adjacent night club, and impeccable service all at reasonable room rates.
Perfect choice for a business or family lunch. Sports easily viewed in the bar from anywhere in the restaurant. Good food and nice service.
Has groceries and everything! One stop shopping.
Really good sandwiches but very limited seating indoors. Outdoor tables on the sidewalk and across the drive.
Free pickle for the kids!
Only criticism is it appears they spent most of their money on their sign; which is impressive. They could stand for a remodel, or at least some upgrades. Food is good and inexpensive.
Spacious considering its location in San Francisco. Reasonably priced and more than you'd expect for what you pay for.
The food is outstanding and the sights spectacular but you'll be hard pressed to get a break and if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this certainly isn't the place. Well laid out with a an easily accessible bar preceding the dining area.
I never really loved the guy, always felt he had this strange look of consternation. But a great character in Iron Man that moved him from a three and a half star actor to 4 stars. I've seen his broader range and I'm impressed.
I've always felt Robert Downey Jr. was slightly under appreciated, just slightly as he is seen as a super celebrity but I really feel he is one of the best actors of his time. I really first enjoyed him as Charlie Chaplin and haven't been disappointed since.
I'd go further to say one of the best super hero films. Everyone was well cast and cameos from Director Jon Favreau and creator Stan Lee were enjoyable. Iron Man is action packed, humorous, well written, and fantastic!
Laid out next to the waterfall for which the Princess resort is famous, Stone Rose is the perfect use of previously vacant space with an open air bar and luxurious seating.
And it is well deserved! The food and prices are exceptional. I'd remodel the place which has a vacant country kitchen feel to it but that doesn't preclude this from being the best breakfast you could find.
This is what an irish pub should be. Literally built in Ireland and shipped over to be reconstructed as you'd expect to find in Kerry or Galway Ireland. A very comfortable setting with live music, a well stocked bar, good irish food, and impeccable service.
The rooms need some upgrades but they are still nice. Great pools and good restaurants. Best feature is that this is right next to the Princess resort.
Luxurious baths, complementary continental bar, beautiful pools, outstanding service and a great facility.
Superb service with an excellent sommelier and wine list. Outstanding dishes with some of Michael Mina's famous favorites. And wonderful atmosphere that exceeds your expectations of the Princess resort.
This location is not as appealing as the one in south Phoenix, it feels a little like a country kitchen rather than the hip BBQ joint that started it all. That said, the food is just a great!
This was a favorite of mine for the years that I lived in Arizona!
5 stars!! okay... 4.5 because 5 is only given to the world's best and I don't know that Sibby's cupcakery is it.
Amazing kobe beef appetizers and a brilliant us of rice in a small Chinese take-out box to warm your appetite.
Great nightclub, perfect location for a night of bar hopping
Beautiful architecture and luxurious rooms. One of the best places in San Francisco for a wine luncheon, under a glass ceiling.
Huge portions bring piles of pasta to your table and schwag litters the walls and keeps your eyes wandering. Great for families and groups!
Huge family style portions feed an army. Perfect for groups.
And I'm happy for it
I'd love to see him in concert, tickets look reasonably priced and his tour brings him everywhere. Reunion with Wham in the works???
Fabulous sandwiches that put most restaurants to shame. This diner in Mandalay Bay is a great place for a quick, relatively inexpensive place to eat. Perfect for breakfast or lunch.
Luxurious baths, great sauna and steam room facilities, all the amenities to relax and watch the game or news, or read a book. Fully staffed and prepared to meet your needs.
Great with a group or for entertaining a business client.
His Andrew Dice Clay style is entertaining on stage (to a point) but he carries the persona off stage where it is as annoying as would be bumping into Sam Kinison and having him yell at you.
Check out Chuck's YouTube page for rap videos about paid search, site design, social media, and closing conversions (driving sales) online.
I think he's got an appealing on screen presence and warm personality that is equally attractive to women and men. He's a guy's guy and you just have to look at the cover of the magazines in your supermarket to know that he's every woman's guy too. Unfortunately, he gets a mix of good and bad parts; I was anxiously awaiting his Dirk Pitt role in Sahara (for which he was well cast) and the bombed the movie and put him up against costars who were as poorly cast as DeNiro was in Stardust.
Furniture, appliances, amenities, lighting, desks, chairs, dishes, beds... everything you need for home, and cheap!
This was the place... years ago young dates would swing by the Olive Garden to fill up on bread sticks and drinks before catching a movie or heading to Put Put (miniature golf). They've since caught on to the scam but the food is still good and prices reasonable.
Well spread out throughout Kalamazoo over enough real estate that you don't feel crowded yet you are on a campus. This really feels like an urban campus though in an suburban environment in that restaurants, businesses, and other venues are dotted throughout. Great sports programs and good theater brings lots of entertainment to southwest Michigan.
This is perhaps the major concert venue around Kalamazoo and Portage Michigan. In addition to live music, Wings brings entertainment like WWE wrestling, X-games, and moto-cross. In season, catch Kalamazoo Wings hockey games as they farm players up to the NHL or swing by almost any other time and get on the rink yourself for some good times with family or friends.
They've got everything from ping pong pool, and foosball, to shuffleboard, bocce ball, and air hockey, to the higher impact sports like basketball, volleyball, and of course an outstanding rock gym. I was even surprised to find a ropes course, one of the best team building exercises you can go through with coworkers. A bar / restaurant in the middle just adds to the atmosphere making this a place to go as much for happy hour and a ball game as it is for some exercise and activity.
5 stars! I'm really curious what they do on Friday and Saturday nights... apparently they turn the place into a nightclub.
Saw him in Atlanta at a convention. He's entertaining, humorous, with a bit of commentary of the day thrown in to an amazing talent.
Could have been sooo good if they had played up the whitty parts and limited the scenic vistas and dramatic music that dragged on. The ghosts could have been hilarious, the sword fight with the dead brother was great, and De Niro was wasted by making it obvious he was less than macho before the gag was pulled. They also seemed to jump from a scene before fully explaining what was going on or elaborating on the story sufficiently.... killing one of the brothers by pushing him off the tower was handled brilliantly (subtle yet humorous and devious) but then they leave us to practically figure out who the other two already dead ghosts are.
More Princess Bride and less Lord of the Rings (and yes this comparison has been made repeatedly but it is valid) and this could have been brilliant.
Great choice for happy hour in Palo Alto, business lunch or dinner, or dates and entertaining. The food is great and service impeccable
As long as you know what dish you're getting for dinner, you should be able to pick out a wine in a minute.
As long as you know what dish you're getting for dinner, you should be able to pick out a wine in a minute.
If you've been to the Hilton convention center in Las Vegas, you have a sense for the Georgia Congress Center. This place is just massive but well designed so it doesn't feel large and comfortably accommodates smaller events. Situated right next to the arena and stadium in Atlanta, close to the Omni Hotel. A few good restaurants close by with public transportation easy and convenient.
Always a little crowd to make it feel warm and friendly, right atmosphere to feel more like an irish pub than a bar. I haven't eaten here but the food is supposed to be top notch, great seafood and a good choice for dinner.
And I was. She's a star with a warm personality and girl next door beauty. A fresh face at the movies who is destined to great things.
I haven't felt like this after a movie in a long time. My wife was smiling ear to ear having sat through an enjoyable, well written, innovative story and film. This is a great role for Dempsey and Amy Adams is a fabulous lead, I'm not familiar with her work but loved her here. Well done Disney!
Think Claim Jumper or Buca di Beppo size meals. The food is good and this location is great when they have live music, show tunes, opera, etc. Somewhat like a New York grill, American style cooking at its finest.
Boasting a first rate cast, this Neil Gaiman graphic novel adaptation divinely entertains with a stellar amalgamation of comedy and swashbuckling adventure. Drawing from the lighthearted tone of Rob Reiner’s “The Princess Bride”, the sorcery of Ron Howard’s “Willow”, and the wonderment of the films of Terry Gilliam, “Stardust” is a celestially electrifying foray into the often dabbled in and rarely perfected blend of fantasy, comedy and true romance.
150 years ago, young Tristan (Charlie Cox) is hopelessly enamored by the beautiful but shallow Victoria (Sienna Miller), and vows to win her heart by embarking on a journey to capture a falling star. When he reaches the crater of the star, there is only a glowing young woman named Yvaine (Claire Danes) in its place. As the two venture back to Tristan’s hometown, they are pursued by the malicious witch Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer), and encounter the likes of the nefarious sky pirate Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) and the Prince of Stormhold, who seeks a missing amulet and the throne.
Rarely are we privy to such grandiose entertainment enchantment by a fantasy film. Gathering together all of the most impressive aspects of the genre, Stardust recreates the lively and breathtaking romance and action that seems to have been forgotten for entirely too long. With kings, princes, witches, wizards and the knight in shining armor (sans armor), this magical fairy tale boldly plays out as if each subsequent scene was constructed from brainstorming the most imaginative and abstract thoughts. Evoking constant surprise with flying pirate ships and comical ghosts, Stardust also presents a distinct science fiction element that surfaces just as frequently as the swashbuckling sword fights and the damsels in distress. With the outlandishness of each new character and brazen humor behind each event, at first it seems too convoluted with bizarre ideas to fit together so fluidly. But director Matthew Vaughn has crafted an exciting fusion of unquestionable romance and mystical fantasy that ultimately works nearly perfectly, and is unmistakably one of the most entertaining films of the year.
An all-star cast brings out the richest elements of the fairy tale world in Stardust. Claire Danes is outstanding as the fallen star Yvaine, and her emotional performance authenticates the epic love story that presides over the special-effects laden action. Robert De Niro plays an entirely comic relief role that will have audiences rolling with laughter. Quite unexpectedly, a large percentage of the cast provides uproarious comedy, which keeps the mood consistently upbeat. Ricky Gervais and the seven princes all add to the laughter, as does Peter O’Toole in his cameo as the King of Stormhold.
The music is also noteworthy, as it seamlessly enhances the dramatic sequences, and stirs up the moments of excitement. The pulsing theme by composer Ilan Eshkeri provides a perfect balance to the events onscreen, especially during the moments of grand adventure when good and evil clash.
There’s nothing commonplace or overdone about Stardust, even with the exotic mixture of comical characters and uniquely devised antagonists. While the film leans toward a steadily humorous and light-hearted tone, the romance is august and believable, and the fantasy elements are all-consuming. It’s difficult to believe that this is the same director who helmed the ultra-hip gangster thriller, Layer Cake.
Family-friendly as well as appealing to all age groups, Stardust eloquently ensures that the romance peaks just below sappy, and the adventure remains at the top of the game. With the plethora of themes and fantastical ideas that sashay onscreen, there’s something to amuse everyone. In the world created for Stardust, there are no rules but what the various artists decide to display, so despite the oftentimes contradictory and radical elements of science fiction, the romantic fantasy and the chaotic fairy-tale-gone-awry subplots, we know that “happily ever after” is definitely within reach. In the spectrum of science fiction/fantasy, films like Blade Runner mark the summit of one end, and Stardust gallantly settles into a high point at the other.
The basic formula in Stardust may not be entirely new, but the few clichés present are cleverly masked by beautifully realized fantasy imagery and sweepingly adventurous romance. Add to that Neil Gaiman’s signature flair for theatrics and magical eccentricities and this lightly-treaded genre has obtained an addition most worthy.
Chipotle is a great choice for some quick Mexican in the genre of fresh, healthy mexican chains that are doing extremely well (Baja Fresh also comes to mind). I wish Chipotle would put some more into their rice to fill up the burritos but they are well made with fresh, great ingredients. Careful, their "mild" can be spicy!
Caught them in Michigan, heck I can't even remember the city, probably a half dozen years ago. Small venue, tickets were cheap. One of the best concerts I've ever been to with Ben's jamming on the piano.
Great smoothies at a community juice bar with events, music, games, and much more to make it feel like the local hang out.
Better than Jamba Juice
The wine tastings and Italian style make this one of the nicest restaurants west of Phoenix. Situated on Main St. in Verrado (a master planned community with everything from custom homes to street lights designed for character) Grazie has great outdoor seating with a view of the town's park in the city square. Wine list is exceptional but the food leaves me wanting more variety (which is hardly a criticism, just a desire for more)
The Wildlife World Zoo is definitely worth a morning or afternoon in the cooler months. They have the greatest collection of animals I've seen (and I've been to San Diego, San Francisco, and other major Zoos) with diversity and unique creatures you won't see anywhere else. Best in class for birds (yeah, I hear what you are saying... birds!? who cares?) but it is really an amazing and unusual collection. Best part is the proximity you get to the animals: inches away from jaguars, reach in and pet tortoises, feed giraffes! They have a decent train ride, nice carousel, and a african cruise (which, granted, needs some work).
As far as zoos go, the grounds need a little work and it gets dusty but this is one of the few places in AZ that knows the importance of shade! Over the years they've put in thousands of trees so that, for the most part, you can visit year round.
Sizable considering its home in San Francisco the appeal of the Argonaut it its luxury style and perfect location. Close to Fisherman's Wharf without being on top of the tourist; more accurately described as being near Pirandello's Square and the trolley.
Has been named one of the top 20 guitarists by Rolling Stone magazine.
What does it say about me that I grew up with and love the Detroit Red Wings and now can't miss a San Jose Sharks game? Hockey tickets are still somewhat reasonable and it is the only sport that takes me home!
Not my favorite, too much of a chain feel to make up for the food that was less than appealing to me.
Bamboo Club could be characterized as trendy or just well decorated but the style is an attractive Asian that makes this a popular spot in Tempe. The food is good and happy hour draws a decent crowd. Great place to avoid the college students as it is a little more upscale.
With media darling, social network Facebook right across the street, the Peninsula Grill has become one of the best places to see and be see amongst the Silicon Valley technorati. The food is good and milkshakes better at this diner that retains its fifties style without being fake. One of my favorites.
Delatti's is new to Los Gatos with stiff competition from TCBY as well as Cold Stone up the street. That said, their fun, inviting atmosphere seems to be a hit with teenagers and the food is a treat and healthy. I hope they do well, they are a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
Nini's is one of those places you'd expect to find in San Francisco: excellent character, great wait staff, and a line out the door for breakfast. But you'll find it in a neighborhood right of the 101 in Burlingame. I highly recommend this place and the best time to go, and avoid the crowd is a 12:30 lunch.
The food is decent but we're not talking about Kobe beef hamburgers with caviar and mixed leaf lettuce. The Counter has a novel approach to burgers giving customers the opportunity to create their burger from scratch. Pick a little of this and a little of that and in 10 minutes, your custom made creation is at your table. This one has a great location across from Rosie's Irish Pub near the lawn and stage at Santana Row. To draw folks back they have a monthly unique creation ("special") with some ingenious ideas; last I was there they were serving a salmon burger and pumpkin milkshake.
Service can be slow and inattentive but the food is as good as can be expected. This is one of the few places on the peninsula with outdoor seating; granted it is on the main road but it is nice to have the option.
That's a half-star deduction.
Otherwise, he thinks big, how can you not love the guy?
Keep your eyes open as this restaurant has a small footprint on El Camino Real but notice it and it sticks out like a beacon of hope. La Fonda is one of the only remodeled establishments on this stretch of the road and, surrounded by run down dining choices, auto shops, and foreign markets, La Fonda is 5 stars. The interior is just as nice, real Hispanic atmosphere and music, exceptional food, and good service. Inside is much more spacious than it looks from the main road with room for large groups or some intimate dining.
A philosopher of our time, Miller's rants propelled him to stardom from Saturday Night Live to his own HBO series. I think his stint in Sports was a mistake but he's recovered nicely with a popular talk radio show demanding more of his off the cuff creativity; the show further highlights his brilliance.
The atmosphere at Scott Howard is fine dining catering to business dinners and social gatherings. The food is outstanding but service tends to be slow and impersonal.
I've been here on a few occasions for various reasons and now feel qualified to write an accurate review. This is one of the better hidden gems in Los Gatos. The first a trip to happy hour in the bar with some friends followed by a short walk across the hall to Mountain Charlie's for live music. The service is tremendous and atmosphere outstanding. Second time was to hang out in the lounge area for dessert and wine. Again 5 stars!
Most recently I sat down for dinner and while the service remains impeccable and food remarkable, we were somewhat ignored and had to settle in for a long dinner with empty water glasses. That isn't so much a comprehensive criticism as an anecdote of how they handle crowds. They had a wedding rehearsal dinner and were short staffed so I'm not upset that we were rarely served, just the fact that they didn't mention the strain or do anything to better accommodate their regular diners. When served, they were their usual best!
I always had mixed feelings on MGM, the attempt to tie in film and movies is a great idea but they struggle with that adding the Aerosmith roller coaster (very cool by the way) and other attractions. On occasion MGM is the better park for the random street performance and the opportunity to interact with the stars (so to speak) is a real draw. The nearby pleasure island (I think that's what it is called...) should be built up and promoted more. Worth a day in a seven day trip; if only at Disney for a few days, stay at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.
Never my favorite but not so much a criticism as a description. The world stages are awesome but a bit like walking through a museum. I was disappointed too to find ethnic foreign people working in each venue while the American pavilion had (believe or not) a gentleman from Mexico City working American boardwalk style concession wagon (a political statement on our recent illegal alien debates? I'll leave that for you to decide). The science themed attractions in the remainder of Epcot are still entertaining but how easily can a technology based theme park keep with the rapid evolution of technology in the real world. In one pavilion they still had computers set up professing the miracles of email! Epcot is worth a day out of a 7 day trip; if your stay is shorter, I'd spend it in the other 3 parks.
I've been probably a dozen times over 30+ years and now, with kids, can't wait to go back. Fun fact I learned while on the Disney shuttle: Disney Land fits in the parking lot for Disney World's Magic Kingdom. No place on earth can rival that plus Epcot, plus Animal Kingdom, plus MGM Studios, heck even with the Blizzard Bay water park, pleasure island (I think that's what it's called isn't it?) and resort hotels. Get the ticket packages to save money so you can stay on the property and avoid the crowds getting in. Be sure to book dinner or breakfast with Mickey!
Magic Kingdom and its memories are a close second but Disney has outdone itself with the quality of the design and atmosphere in Animal Kingdom. The safari ride feels like you are actually on a safari - a major improvement from the river boat ride in Frontier Land. Even distant landmarks like the Himalayas are scaled to really appear to be in the distance. Live animals and amusement park rides and roller coasters come together to improve what was already the magical Disney vacation.
Hanging out around here reminded me of Times Square of Union Square in San Francisco. Street Performers and crowds of tourists, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.
Good shopping and a remarkable food court. This is one of the few malls in the area that is great with kids with an indoor play area perfect for a rainy day.
An outdoor, open air mall with some of the best gardeners in California. To shop in the spring and summer is like walking through a garden. The stores favor nicer brands without being overtly high end: Bose, Polo, Bloomingdales and Macy's, Sony, Victoria's Secret, etc. The restaurants are wonderful additions with a diner, Max's Opera House, Playa Grill Mexican, adding unique variety.
Certainly one of the best breakfasts in Los Gatos and the best omelettes in the bay area but the crowds can be much. At least they aren't as bad as those at the Los Gatos Cafe... if you are craving their food, bypass their wait and come here.
Perhaps the best Mexican food to cross the border since Filiberto's (a local join in Tempe, AZ). The prices are great, service is fast, and quality is outstanding with fresh, healthy food that gives traditional Mexican heartburn.
Beats anything else I've found in Los Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga, or San Jose. The quality is great and service is good. Can be a little crowded in the mornings but not enough to keep you away.
This one is a bit large by Bay Area real estate standard so it often feels empty but the service is good and food as expected.
I worried that he was getting old with Streets of Philadelphia. His ballad was a spectacular song but he looked a little worn. About a year ago, I caught him at AT&T Park in San Francisco and it remains to this day one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Tickets were impossible to get but that stadium was a great venue with not a bad seat in the place.
The other food is good too but they have a very limited selection. Chicken, burger, etc. The host service was fabulous, wait staff not as much so. Reasonably priced and fun atmosphere bringing you a unique dining choice. Perfect locatino in the heart of Santana Row so you can catch live music if sitting outside or at least enjoy a walk after dinner with Ice Cream at Ben & Jerry's.
The pizza's are great and sauce some of the better you can find for pasta or sandwiches. Service is a little slow which seems to coincide with the older crowd to which they tend to cater.
The Old Pro is a Palo Alto favorite and the work done to spruce up the place makes it one of the best spots in town. Be sure to ride the bull!
Brings improvisational comedy to business with a dynamic experience that fosters innovation and creativity. John was the lead of the group I saw perform for HP; the entire cast was exceptional!
Really enjoy hearing Seth on video as well as in person, he is that good. I caught his presentation shortly after his book Purple Cow.
Owned by the same people that run Nola's and KingFish, Mistral has great, somewhat unique food, good service, and a picturesque location on the water (surprisingly hard to find in the bay area). The atmosphere/decor is not the same as the other restaurants, Mistral is a little more white tablecloth
Pros: Great food and good service on the water
Decent spot for a few drinks but pass on the food. So close to Columbus in North Beach, you can find better.
Spanish cuisine as is stated above? no, not really. Food is like good bar food and beer is select to Thirsty Bear. Pool tables give you something to do and otherwise, Thirsty Bear is a decent place for happy hour.
If you want to compete with the tourists, in Times Square, yes, this may be one of your better choices. But it is not worth the crowds of people who just want to hang out somewhere trendy as the food and service are average. Looks can be deceiving.
Reserve one of the wine rooms for a private, special evening or simply enjoy the unique food, good music, and wonderful atmosphere in the dining room. Upstairs the setting is quaint, warm, and entertaining with a bar drawing a crowd to an otherwise intimate setting.
Pros: Character, atmosphere, unique food, and outstanding service
Yes its expensive but the quality of the restaurant is so top notch that this is a "must visit" place.
Pros: Great atmosphere, service, and unique food
The food is satisfactory and the service, while top notch, is a bit snobby. This is a place to see and be seen but I don't believe it is worth the trip.
The W is an outstanding choice for business travelers as well as those looking to get away. As each is a little unique, this one comes across as a little cold. It is trendy and the service is outstanding but its tough to feel relaxed in the rooms
Small select menu but the Grove is the place to spend a few hours with some friends or a book. Grab some food and relax outside or in the unique interior where the atmosphere is lively, social, yet relaxed.
Pros: Great scene, ideal place to relax
Cons: Not a wide menu
The service is top notch and decor makes it a fun choice when you want a quick bite or just a milkshake and fries.
Pros: 50s style, good service
Cons: Diner food
A bar with great music: The lounge is a great spot to catch good local bands, usually a line to get in, sometimes tickets. I never fail to have a great time.
Pros: Great music
This restaurant, right in the heart of the Marina, has a little more appeal due to its location. Otherwise, its what you'd expect from a diner. Good diner food. A fun atmosphere.
Its proximity to Betelnut gives Prego an aura of greatness but in all reality, Prego is your average italian restaurant with all the average trimmings
Pros: Good choice if looking for something better than Oregano's or Fusio
A megaplex means its crowded and with $6 for parking, its expensive to go here (though I suppose that is cheap for parking in SF)
Pros: Lots of theaters so this is the place to look for frequent show times and selection
Cons: Crowds and expensive
One of the Marina Bars which tends to have a decent crowd, great service, and a pool table in back to pass the time
Dive! Not a bad thing, but it is. Bar None is a better choice if you are looking for this atmosphere. Its dark, has some bar games, and cheap drinks. Problem here is the layout of the bar makes if feel cramped, especially when crowded.
Pros: Cheap drinks
Cons: Crowded, cramped, and on occasion, the snobby crowd from the triangle makes its way here.
For those that want that unique Asian flair, this is the place. The good is good with comparable service and atmosphere. This is a great spot for a date as it is not too fancy but nice enough to impress.
Pros: Good food
Cons: A little expensive
1 corner of "the triangle" where cougars meet the young and impressionable. Some people love that crowd but I can't rate it highly. It is stuffy, snobby & expensive but the food is decent. If you are looking for the desperate crowd on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, come on down.
Pros: One of the better spots on the triangle for food
Cons: Expensive
Think of a cross between your corner takeout chinese place and P.F. Changs. Dragon well effectively brings the two together to provide low cost but high quality chinese food in an outstanding atmosphere.
Pros: Great food, low cost, good atmosphere and service
Probably the poorest Italian in the Marina: The atmosphere is good with seating watching the street or kitchen but don't let the appearance of this chain fool you. The food is easily summed up as bland. Pass and try another place.
Pros: Decent atmosphere
Cons: Plain, unexciting, bland food
I'm told this place was a hot spot and by the photos on the wall, that was true. Today it is a sub-par mexican restaurant in desperate need of remodeling. Though a decent spot for happy hour as the margaritas are spiked with enough tequila to put you under, be sure to bring the tums to dinner as you'll be served stale chips and salsa and taco bell quality food. The mariachi band brings some appealing color but they should be told to turn down the volume and stop begging for handouts from the diners.
Pros: Decent happy hour scene
Cons: Poor food, tacky decor, and a band that will keep you from enjoying your social dinner
A little place tucked away from Chestnut this is the best Italian in the area. Walk in and you feel like a local with outgoing staff and owners who say hello to everyone.
The food is great and affordable and while crowded, the wait is usually minimal.
Say hi to Vinnie for me.
Pros: Great scene, outstanding atmosphere, good affordable food
Cons: Hardly a "con" but they need to remodel the exterior to match the character inside. Don't let the fascade fool you.
Great breakfasts and outstanding views of the cable cars and bay. Famous for their irish coffee for good reason.
Not much more to say about this decent chain. I think the food is good and usually healthy. I've never had a meal here that wasn't on par with the other locations. I think the layout of this one is poor (if I had to find a criticism) with a bar in the middle and ceilings so low you feel like you are in a hotel restaurant. I like Elephant Bar and if you are around this part of town, its worth your time.
Activist, artist, singer, songwriter and most importantly Beatle. It was his partnership with Paul McCartney that created the musical genius that was the Beatles; without one another their songs were still influential but without the same impact on society. John Lennon remains a powerful mentor to musicians to this day and I enjoy nothing more than catching live performances of his music.
Sorry, that's the first thing I saw on this page. That aside, Collins was a brilliant singer songwriter during the eighties and nineties and one of the shining stars in Disney's lineup of musicians (wow, I wrote that as though he's dead didn't I?). Now that Genesis is on tour as a group I can't wait to catch him in concert with Peter Gabriel and hope they each fit some of their singles into the show.
This is one of those pubs you read about: built in Ireland, somewhere on the Dingle Peninsula or the hills around Shannon, lovingly dismantled and shipped to the U.S. to be rebuilt from the floor up. The result is a setting plucked from Ireland with the drinks to match (from a nice selection of whiskeys to Guinness, Harp, etc.). Don't misinterpret my first statement, the music was great, top 40 and dance music till late in the night; its just that walking into this setting makes you long from the authenticity. I didn't have the food but the restaurant was packed so while my recommendation is happy hour or late night drinking and dancing, it is clear you should stop by for dinner.
The service could use some work (like how I jump right into a criticism after giving them a good rating? Bear with me) as the wait staff and host were less than attentive but the atmosphere inside is classy yet entertaining, a great spot for a business dinner. Outside you are right on the water with great views of the skyline across the river. Be warned that the outdoor seating resigns you to the bar menu which, while still impeccably prepared, is very limited.
Nice elevators and great location. That's about all I can say. This place is a surprising disappointment with exceptionally small rooms that have been given the half-assed make over you sometimes find in a home for sale: they stuck in a new sink and trendy mirror over out of date floors and walls which haven't been scrubbed clean since the seventies.
One of the better places the tourists can hang out at without it feeling like a tourist bar. The atmosphere is "nightclub" and crowds decent.
The food is fabulous and desserts outstanding. They have beautiful views of the harbor and excellent service. My only complaint is that it looks like that having remodeled since the eightings; don't get me wrong, it is 5 star, fine dining that could benefit from a renovation.
Feels like you are in the cellar of the prison in which the Liberty Hotel has been built. Prison bars and brick set the stage and tables are well placed to make the space feel popular yet private.
Great atmosphere with the prison bars and prisoner id numbers in place of nameplates on the staff. A little over priced but the food and service is outstanding.
I stayed here shortly after they opened and can only criticize their reservation desk which apparently wasn't yet connected properly with Orbitz. The staff is outstanding and accommodations not just luxurious but entertaining as we're staying in a remodeled prison! They've designed subtle touches such as prison bars over some of the windows and prison doors leading into the restaurant (aptly named Clink). Walking distance to Boston Commons through historic Beacon Hill.
the paramount (small caps according to their business cards) is a quaint, popular restaurant in the heart of the historic Beacon Hill section of Boston. Not far from Boston Commons, the food is excellent with my only criticism the quality of the stale fries. The place gets crowded at lunch so I recommend going early or a little late.
I'm not as much of a fan of Hobee's as most in California. Don't get me wrong, its quaint, reasonably priced, and the food is decent but be prepared for the challenge of finding mere pancakes and eggs on the menu.
I'm blessed to live close to the Mountain Winery which brings the best live music from Etta James to Foreigner. No other concert series brings such a great variety of music with inexpensive tickets in a beautiful outdoor stadium.
What was the name of the stadium 25 years ago?
"Authentic Mexican" is right on and the food is great. The place is in desperate need of a remodeling as it feels cheap. Its not unappealing as in dirty but low quality and run down. You can eat here but I really recommend Two Pesos for take out.
One of my earliest sports memories is traveling from Battle Creek to Detroit to catch the Red Wings. Clueless when the octopus hit the ice and quickly ushered out the door when the crowd around us started throwing punches that matched the fight on the ice.
Somewhat revolutionary but put on a much higher pedestal than they probably deserve. I think Jim Morrison was brilliant but embroiled with his own emotions (Kurt Cobain). Their music is good but not exceptional and in reality, few hits were sufficient to make them superstars.
I'll admit, I'm a little torn on this review. Rosie's is an authentic looking pub right of the the street of Galway. They bring in local music and have had some great irish musicians but turn the corner from the bar to the restaurant and you feel like you've walked into an English country club complete with a the stereotypical picture of some fox hounds leading the hunt. I was disappointed to find, when dining there the other night, they were playing music one would expect at trendy Sino around the corner. The food is decent and service okay. Really you go to Rosie's for the atmosphere which was unfortunately out of place on my recent trip. I hope they stick with what they know best because no one does Irish like the Irish.
Let me first point out that my opinion of downtown San Jose was radically altered when I discovered San Francisco's famous Asqew Grill just up the alley from Caesar de Chavez Plaza. Then I turn the corner and find the Pita Pit! Another of my Marina favorites. Close to the theaters and light rail, Pita Pit is perfectly located and easily accessible by most working downstairs. The food is fresh and outstanding and a welcome addition to the city!
As far as I know Asqew opened in San Francisco's Marina district a few years ago. This quickly became our favorite restaurant because it was fresh, healthy, inexpensive, and unique. Consider my disappointment when I had to move to the south bay. Fast forward a couple years; I'm in San Jose for a conference and low and behold! Right near the light rail and a new movie theater, just up the way from Caesar Chavez park, Asqew has opened to wet the appetites of those of us not fortunate enough to live or work in San Francisco. The food is outstanding, fast, and heathy (without being salads and tofu!). This location even has the plus of having more space to provide ample indoor and outdoor seating.
Rumors of his setting up in Vegas have my computer set to Southwest Airlines to book a flight. As much as I would have loved to see any of the greats, Sinatra, Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson reigns supreme as the King of Pop with his hits still played on major radio stations and melodies frequently remixed and played again. I even loved Alien Ant Farm's remake of Smooth Criminal and the YouTube video of prisoners doing Thriller.
I was here for a party with Yahoo! We had the place to ourselves so I rode all the roller coasters without lines and had the pick of the games, rides, attractions. We didn't get into the water park so no thoughts there.
Only complaint is the lack of reasonable parking, go early and get a good spot.
Thin crust and inexpensive slices. This one is in a great location with convenient parking next to an AMC movie theater and a Baskin Robbins. They only lose a point because the location is too small for the business they do and they haven't figure out they need to put a shade on the window around dinner time.
I'm a science fiction nut and I'll be the first to admit it was a sad day when Dark Angel was finished and Max was relegated to reruns on the SciFi channel. I don't think she was cast well in her role as the Invisible Woman in Fantastic Four but she's pulled it off well and I'm looking forward to seeing her in more films.
CrowsNest has a beautiful location right by the harbor on a beach overlooking the bay. Watch boats cruise out to sail past the boardwalk with drinks at the bar upstairs or sit downstairs at the nicer restaurant. The service is great and the views are perfect.
Close to public transportation (which is impossible in the Bay Area) and right around the corner from major hotels, restaurants, and entertainment in downtown San Jose. The convention center seems new and is well kept as well as being big enough for the largest of events and conferences.
This is, without question, some of Carvey's worst work. Unfortunately the film could have been significantly improved if only Dana hadn't played Pistachio such a sniveling idiot who almost comes across as mentally challenged. The premise is fun and this could have been an entertaining journey through Dana Carvey's talented impressions instead, I wasted 80 minutes of my life.
This film work on the fight scenes is remarkable; Zach's crew has defined how medieval action and sword fights should be filmed and I felt as involved in the battles as I did with Saving Private Ryan.
The Exploratorium is a science museum effectively behind the Palace. It is a wonderful museum for kids with tremendous interactivity and much to learn. They work hard to keep up with modern science, and not simply by turning on some computers with cheap games. Bring your kids for the day, you'll have fun, they will learn more than you can imagine, and you can stroll by the palace and feed the ducks when you are done.
She was perfectly cast in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a delight in Bridge to Terabithia. Annasophia is destined for great movies.
I expected a fanciful, fun fantasy film (how's that for poetry?) and sat instead through a film that struggled to get going and ended with death. PG needs to be reconsidered and its MPAA rating with "some peril" is a little off. Leslie's death is as traumatizing as the unexpected loss of Bambi's mother and this dramatic story about Jesse's growth is meant for adults, not kids.
Damon has always wavered with me on this line between talented extra and exceptional actor. Much of his work feels a benefit of his Hollywood connections and school boy aspirations to be in film. On the other hand his best work is truly exceptional. The Talented Mr. Ripley was painful for me, as I watched him struggle in a role terribly out of character for him. Movies like Dogma, Rounders, and Ocean's Eleven confirm for me that he's well connected and merely a school boy who wants to be in the movies. Then again, his work with Saving Private Ryan, The Good Shepherd, and of course Good Will Hunting highlight his remarkable talent as does his vulnerable, enigmatic Jason Bourne.
Let's not even talk about Stuck on You... Jersey Girl... Eurotrip??
Fun fact? He was only an extra in Kevin Costner's Field of Dreams
He can now. Let me first say this is the first movie I've seen in theaters in MONTHS!! With two kids I couldn't have made a better decision for the precious few hours I had out with my wife. This movie is one of the best of the summer with an awesome story, great acting, and non-stop suspense. Paul Greengrass knows how and when to grab your attention and understands that the soundtrack is a subtle, critical feature of an exceptional film. His avoidance of music while Bourne kicks the crap out of another asset just heightens the suspense and draws you into the film.
The only misstep on the part of the studio producing this film? It isn't open in enough theaters or playing frequently enough to meet demand. Buy tickets and go early to avoid the lines.
Hard to get into since you can't make u-turns from the opposite side of the road. I know, a poor criticism but it aggravates me. More relevant is that this place just feels cold, its situated in such a way that the wind whips through the door and the seating is poorly arranged.
The thing this restaurant has going for it is the outdoor seating which is always hard to find even though the weather in the bay area is always beautiful.
The burgers are outstanding while good salads, chicken, and other options are available. Prices are good, service is quick. Be sure to get a milkshake.
The burgers are outstanding while good salads, chicken, and other options are available. Prices are good, service is quick. Be sure to get the fries which remind me of McDonald's quality 15 years ago.
Only criticism, I like the vibe of the Palo Alto location better.
Come on now, that's hardly fair
There's Istar or the more recent Who's Your Caddy?
What about SuperBabies or From Justin to Kelly??
This is by no means some of Travolta's best work and it didn't do much to help Whitaker's career but you can sit through it... once.
I didn't even remember Corey Feldman was in this until I saw it again here. The only problem with Gremlins is that it is a prime example of the fate that befalls sequels. A good first movie ruined by the movie machine.
Pulp Fiction wasn't nearly as violent as Reservoir Dogs or Kill Bill and I think it has a far greater story. This is one of his best.
The Breakfast Club, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, and Fast Times. These are the films that defines an era for many of us and this is still one of my favorites.
I'm not so much a fan of listening to their music which sounds too similar but I think they're outstanding in concert, a great live band that you can just hand out and enjoy.
Santana Row is as close to a modern "Main Street" as you can get. The boulevard is tree lined with small shops, games, and entertainment down the middle. Streets are lined with upscale retail and outstanding restaurants and spas. Above levels are luxury apartments and condos that give the area a downtown feel. Farmers' Markets, live music, and other entertainment make this a destination more than a location.
A tremendous scene welcomes you to Sino, an expansive and usually crowded bar, attractive people, trendy decor, and loud music. Imagine having dinner at any of the big nightclubs in Vegas (Tao or Rum Jungle come to mind) and you've got Sino. The food is adequate, a criticism only because everything I had was fried when it could have been fresh and seemingly healthier. The wine list is good.
With Frank, Dino, and Sammy on vocals, Joey Bishop adding some talented humor to the others' hijinks and Peter's star power, this group of talent was on top for decades. Movies, music, comedy, and live shows perpetuated a still extremely popular run for look-a-like acts.
Decent actor who really proved himself in "From Here to Eternity," Sinatra has that voice that is still a pleasure to hear. Every song was a hit and his Duet's albums are a blast to listen to as he sings with Bono, Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Liza Minnelli, Barbra Streisand, and even Willie Nelson.
With its long waits for dinner and oily food this place does not live up to the media's hype. Yes the pizza is outstanding but I highly recommend you drop by for lunch as you won't have to wait.
Personal opinion mind you but I think his strength was his amiable personality, comedic timing, and a good but not great voice. His acting was what we expect from a musician gone movies; he was good, but not exceptional. This is coming across with more criticism than praise and that's not intentional, Dino was one of the greatest performer of the 20th century.
You walk into this restaurant and they treat you like a regular. The food is the best Italian in the Marina and the service is superb.
They should remodel the exterior so it suits the quality inside.
Singer, dance, comedian, Sammy was one of the best performers of all time and his alignment with Sinatra was no surprise. Mr. Bojangles is one of my favorites and I never knew, until finding Sammy on Zvents, it was a song about his Tap mentor Bill "Bojangles" Robinson.
Is it worth the hype? Yes. The food is unique (though similar to P.F. Chang's), the atmosphere good, and the service on track.
Is it worth trying to go for dinner especially on a Friday night? Not at all. Pass. Its not the place to be seen so why wait hours to eat there?
My suggestion? Go for lunch on the weekend and sit in the bar with the open windows. Enjoy your time and the food.
The Room is worth checking out once for the view and the atmosphere. Tourists are encouraged to go so expect an eclectic crowd. They are frequently crowded so service suffers while they try to make up for it with customer service friendly bouncers and coat check staff. Expect expensive drinks.
Sure, most car dealers do this but this place gave me a verbal commitment on the price of a car only to pull it when I went in to sign paperwork. They kept me on site for hours while they ran numbers then didn't even apologize for their mistake.
Terrible customer service, bait & switch pricing, no ownership of mistakes
Thin crust and inexpensive slices. This one is in a great location with convenient parking which can be difficult to find in other parts of downtown San Mateo.
Outdoor seating on the back patio is what makes Barney's a winner. The food and service are good but the ambiance inside suffers.
Pool, darts, shuffleboard in the back, drinks in the front. This is a great bar at which you can just hang out. Younger crowd. Can get too crowded.
Bimbo's is a wellknown spot for shows. With bars in the venue as well as throughout the building, you can get drinks without missing the show or take a break from the crowd. Booths in the back give the place a supperclub appeal as you can sit at a table and enjoy the show; dance floor in front of the stage gives it that concert/nightclub benefit
Nice theater
Unhappy staff
They DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS
Unfortunately, you don't have much choice but to stay here. There aren't many hotels in Stinson and they know it. Rates are outrageous since you essentially get a studio apartment (large enough for the bed and a tiny bathroom). The room was infested with spiders and the property, while beautiful, is so overgrown with their "Garden setting" that you have to squeeze through bushes to get to your door. The owner/manager is a shlocky car sales man who talks a good talk but at the end of the day doesn't care about your experience or that he's screwing you. He told us we could check in early so we drove up there early in the am; when we arrived we were told we misunderstood and that we could pay for the room now and that's what he meant; check in still at 3.
The place hasn't been remodeled in years and it shows. The food is tremendous, this is a steak house and well worth you dining dollars.
Small place which gets crowded after a late night at the bars but the food is great and the price is right.
Cons: Only can drinks (no fountain), and cramped when it is crowded
Service is nonchalant as though they don't care about you but this is a great place to stop for drink while in the Meatpacking district. The lounge on the top floor gives great views.
Reasonable prices, Golden Tee 2005, Decent Jukebox and the Marina talent
Cons: Can be crowded and not much to do besides drink
Pros: Views of Union square
Cons: Expensive, crowded, satisfactory food
Good views of the city from the balcony but you otherwise have the expensive, crowded, kitschy restaurant we all know for its cheesecake.
It may be the premier Silicon Valley Steakhouse but its satisfactory. Keep an eye out for it because they have a strange location location. Good place for happy hour and decent food.
Outdoor seating is wonderful, interior needs a little work as the glass covered tables and menus sealed in plastic seem a little cheap but that is hardly something to hold against them. The food is outstanding and service is attentive and helpful.
Pros: Great food, good service, reasonably priced
Cons: Somewhat small plates leave you looking for more
And I admit, I like "Because of You," and "Since U Been Gone."
The pastas and pizzas are fine if not too bland. I wish they had something other than their endless honey wheat bread which just doesn't go with the olive oil and vinegar they have at the tables. Stay away from the meats which taste cheap.
On the positive note, they are inexpensive and have ideal real estate with a large outside patio facing the park and fountain downtown. The atmosphere is usually louder so it is perfect for families and kids.
I haven't had the omelettes
This place is always crowded on the weekends with a line out the door. The breakfast is fine, nothing special though I'll admit the pancakes are a nicer thin style so they aren't as heavy as a brick in your gut. I hear the omelettes are the reason to go and they do have an endless selection.
This is also one of the few places in Los Gatos where you can dine outdoors.
The park is full of old rides and cheap attractions just right for little kids. My daughter loves the dragon train and carnival like car rides. The zoo is a much more impressive as they continue to expand and remodel the attraction with new animals and habitats.
The front have of the zoo is newly remodeled with a spectacular African exhibit, primate area, and kids zoo. The collection of animals rivals San Diego with active rhinos, crocodiles, penguins and more. Unfortunately, the remodeling is half complete so the rear of the park feels like a Zoo from the fifties with too much concrete and old buildings with cages. Don't get me wrong, they are making wonderful improvements and the SF Zoo is worth a trip with the kids, just prepare for some disappointing features.
The pop stuff rocks but his other songs are too heavy with the same sound.
Sure, maybe now they aren't the hottest in concert but we're talking about The Police here.
Heck I think they'd love a Vegas musical thought, are you knocking LOVE?? I thought the skids was when opening at Circus Circus in Laughlin, NV followed by the Allegheny County Fair.
Make reservations for an remarkable meal before to get you in the door and past the line for the club.
Make reservations for an outstanding dinner before to get you in the door and past the line for the club as the night goes on. Great bar scene and music.
They've resurfaced the entire building to give it a cartoon appearance. Inside are fresh Simpson's donuts, Buzz cola by the case, squishees, Krusty O's, and other familiar products. They also have exclusive merchandise like shirts, bobbleheads, and cookies. The employees are dressed like Apu and the place was crowded! It was 1:30 in the afternoon on a workday and they had a steady stream of people with crates of more merchandise coming in as fast as it goes out. Definitely worth stopping by just to see it!
In the 7 years I've been here this place has been 4 or 5 different places with the same name. They went through a period as a great pool hall with classy games and the perfect happy hour. Its been one of the hot nightclubs and still has iterations of that. For a time this was what I'd consider a 4 star, fine dining experience. Now it leans fun cantina (without the hispanic part), just a bar with food. By the time you go it may very well be different so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I miss the pool tables and shuffleboard which really made this a place to hang out. Even the nicer restaurant had its appeal. Now it feels like just an option, with ok food.
The restaurant looks like Nola's in Palo Alto, though Mexican. The decor is bright, rustic, and artistic (not cheap chain food which description might imply). The fajitas are outstanding, unique flavor, great chicken, and wonderful spice. The salsa is perfect.
I only went for lunch but imagine this a hot spot for happy hour and outdoor seating is in high demand on a nice day.
Her style is pop rock with a subtle blend of funk, blues, and upbeat dance. I know, how can it be all that?? She's a blast to listen to and I can't wait to catch her live.
That about sums it up. The food is your typical Asian fusion fare with some interesting changes such as those made to their lettuce cups. The wine list is decent but expensive (especially relative to their food pricing). Its the decor that leaves me struggling for words... I suppose the best description is one step down from P.F. Chang's. They've intermingled nice, quality furnishings with cheap touches such as floors that look linoleum and an iconic Merlion made of plastic. It is worth stopping by as the food is unique enough that you may love it.
Mildly entertaining with some innovative ideas to knit together the story. The transporter is a neat concept, shooting people through space. I like the attempt, a play on Star Trek fanatics but would have hoped for a stronger cast. Alan Rickman and Tony Shalhoub are good as always. Tim Allen comes across too much as William Shatner of today, not Captain Kirk of yesteryear.
Alien, the original, sucked me into a great sci-fi flick which got better in Aliens.
Does it play occassionally?
This is a classic from Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis that I'd love to catch again.
The band was great and they tapped Los Gatos Recreation to run sack races, parachute games, a bouncy house, dunk tank, balloon, and face painting for kids.
Nice job Los Gatos
My only criticism? Not enough shade... we had a hot day!
I crave their Kung Pao Chicken and desserts. They have a wide variety of food and, personally, its better than Cheesecake Factory for being in the same style of restaurant.
Desert Sky Pavilion probably 8 years ago (not Cricket Pavilion I think). She was good, her slow stuff is not well known and a little boring but the popular music is great live.
You can't beat an open air summer concert with Jimmy and the Coral Reefer Band
Excellent arena with great acoustics and not a bad seat in the house
It is one of the largest restaurants in the bay area with multiple rooms for large parties. The food is good and service great but it feels empty.
A great sign draws you in to Capers but it feels more like a nice bar. The food is great but they could work on the atmosphere
The real draw to Aldo's though is the live music
The atmosphere is as laid back as South Beach. Walk right in from the sun with you suit on to get one of the best salads or burgers around
Lounge in the sun with a cabana then head into Pearl for dinner and stay for the hottest party you'll find.
What Weird Al was to the eighties and nineties, Tenacious D is to 2000!!
Hmm... I take that back... that doesn't really do these guys justice.
Perhaps I have some fond memories of the weasel. Nope, that's not it.
This was terribly slow at times with an awful ending. This would have failed if not for the intriguing story and realistic portrayal of a potential future.
White Christmas was a family tradition when I was growing up and remains so today
Redwood Shores is not known for its breadth of restaurants. We've got a dozen at most. Amici's is one of the nicer atmosphere's with a clean, well decorated place that serves good food.
The Los Gatos Music in the Park concert series is one of the best events in the bay area with live music, food, a few vendors, and a tremendous feeling of community.
As far as I know, these guys did it first and still best. This is a great restaurant for a chain with wonderful food, remarkable atmosphere, and bartenders that know how to attract a crowd.
Well, come for the burgers because they are second to none in Arizona. Hot and fresh off the charcoal grill this is one of my favorites.
An irish pub seemingly transported from Ireland. The food is great, the live music better and the drinks and craic are outstanding!
The outdoor seating is in high demand here as you'll find it right on a patio in the shade of some beautiful trees
Excellent food!
Much of the cooking is done right in the open so sit at the bar and enjoy or treat yourself to a table at this great restaurant.
Too bad they have such a small location this is a welcome addition to Los Gatos1
Great food and lively atmosphere, this place is similar to NOLAs only in that it is owned by the same group. White tablecloths and an excellent wine selection make this the upscale dining choice.
These guys are great in concert, saw them at Bimbo's in San Francisco!
Decent work from DiCaprio and Danes. What I enjoyed more though was the mere twist on story to bring it up to date.
In a trendy atmosphere you'd expect in a club in San Francisco, Thea brings out the romantic or fashion icon ready for a night on the town.
The food is great and the dining experience unique. Stop outside for a tequila at the tequila bar on the street.
Family style dining so bring an appetite or a group. Lunch and dinner rush can be a bear so wait patiently and arrive with time. Great atmosphere hearkens back to the 40-50s. Think Buca Di Beppo but a little nicer.
Don't get me wrong, its a great restaurant, very popular, just not my taste
Great place to hangout
This is a great place for lunch. The food is satisfactory but the service is great and you really feel like you are in a cantina in Mexico.
Remarkable Cuban food served in a unique atmosphere with lots of natural light and a Cuban bar feel. A cigar bar in the back is great during the evenings or after work but the real draw of this place is its excellent food and service. Keep your eyes open, you are likely to spot silicon valley entrepreneurs and movers & shakers.
Say hello to Hemmingway
This reminds me of an old men's club. The steaks are fabulous
Bon Jovi is a true artist able to transition through the decades to power rock in the eighties, nineties and even today. He has more effectively moved from music to acting than have most singers all while continuing to turn out hits.
I'd love to catch them in concert.
In need of some more recent photos here!
Back when the Desert Sky Pavilion was still the Desert Sky Pavilion in a bygone era of stadium names that weren't sponsored by the man!
Awesome concert, these guys are great live.
Couple catchy tunes but for the most part, her unusual style doesn't suit my taste.
With the Traveling Wilburys, still genius, but as a solo artist? He's always good but he's best amongst peers
And I didn't realize the breadth of Van Morrison's mastery of music until I was much older and caught Gloria and Have I Told You Lately
With classic style, this should remain a part of Los Gatos for years to come
This is a blast every year
Has a somewhat limited menu but an excellent wine list makes up for that.
"By the time the Rolling Stones began calling themselves the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the late '60s"
Yeah well... that crown still goes to The Beatles (it certainly did then) but this is probably the second best band in history and a great concert even today!
One of my favorites missing from the description is his remake of "What a Wonderful World" featured very nicely on the TV shot Scrubs
Call Me Irresponsible
Home
I've Got You Under My Skin
Save The Last Dance For Me
Want to catch him in concert
It Had to Be You
Let's Call the Whole Thing Off
But I'm not a big fan of the songs that aren't hits.
If you like Connick you'll also like Michael Buble
Something about the atmosphere. The bar feels cherished, like a classy Cheers bar then the restaurant is trendy with high ceilings and lots of glass windows.
Good atmosphere and some of the best outdoor seating in Palo Alto
I love this restaurant with unique food and great atmosphere
Its not on the menu but its the best in the Bay Area
Excellent choice for dinner
Only criticism is that it looks a little fanciful from the outside. Don't let that deceive you.
Las Vegas, MGM Grand 2003 (I think)
Worth it if only for the Beatles hits
I'm still mad though that they slowed The Freshmen after signing with RCA, the original I grew up with was so much better
One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces, Fair, Kate, Battle of Who Could Care Less, Kalamazoo! (my home town)
The hits keep going and the piano rocks!
Everything seems slow
The Distance
I Will Survive - nice attempt but...
Bet my sister I could sing all the words. Oh yeah. I won.
December, Accidentally in Love, these guys are fabulous in concert
and I believe.... that love is the answer...
Saw them in concert with Train at Verrado outside Phoenix, Arizona.
At Verrado outside Phoenix, Arizona. Awesome show. Eliot Sloan of Blessid Union of Souls got on stage for a couple numbers
The atmosphere is a little trendy mixed with white table cloths. Love the food and a nice wine list.
Spacious interior overlooking the river and outdoor seating on a beautiful patio in downtown Los Gatos.
Excellent food
Nice atmosphere and an excellent bar make this one of the best places to hang out or enjoy a meal in Los Gatos
Live music and summer outdoor theater is frequent here
A great venue seemingly, literally, in a barn. I grew up catching Tom Wopat (Dukes of Hazzard) on stage here!
Retailers and online marketers should get to this conference
Good food, lots of room to hang out, and great stores and ammenities
Well situated for travel and large crowds. A little too far from the strip to walk but it can be done.
Probably the best place to go if you are actually bringing kids to Vegas
Some of the best in Vegas, you can't go wrong with the Luxor
Good entertainment and shows, nice restaurants, and the best boxing in town.
With Rain, Moon, The Playboy Club, N9ne Steakhouse and an excellent casino, Palms is one of the best in town. A new pool and outdoor entertainment is the icing on the cake
Good restaurants, fine entertainment, and an excellent casino.
Tao is an excellent nightclub and restaurant while the rest of the casino remains one of the best in Vegas
Its as nice a casino as the other new venues. Great tables and good entertainment. Worth visiting. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) it is rarely crowded.
The pool is one of the best and layout of the casino unique with great atmosphere.
Food is what you'd expect from a chain. Reminds me of Hard Rock quality dining.
Ideal for toddlers but accomodates older children with shows, music, face painting, and larger rides. Always a great time!
Beautiful high school campus with a great open field
With good food, fresh product, and a wide selection of other goods and music.
Right on ASU campus
This is one of the best outdoor venues in Tempe. Don't let the name fool you, the charm is in its atmosphere and good food makes this a great spot to hang out.
Everytime I'm in Arizona I make a trip to Tempe for some Pizzookie!
Hot spot in Tempe where your sure to find the coeds
New facilities, right on the water, urban development all around but enough park space to enjoy the heat!
Great location and always a hot spot
When they have live music this place is rockin
Forbes Mill is one of the best
Pool tables and video games make this your classic bar and a great hang out as the culture is casual and atmosphere laid back. Don't come in your sunday best, peanuts (and more) are thrown on the floor.
Ok, not spooky but Rudy's does have that dive bar vibe to it. It is a great place though to hang out and grab a drink. Entertainment is usually good and a dance floor is one of few in town.
Darts give you something to do when entertainment is not available. They throw a great party but otherwise this place can be a dive.
eTail is a must attend for online commerce executives
Also features a carousel and 1/3 scale train that cruises through the park
Fabulous bocce ball courts that are great for a corporate event, personal party, or just something to do (open to the public). Tables set throughout are open for lunch or dinner with great food.
Nice restaurant and bar with great bocce ball courts at this stylish hotel in the heart of San Jose
Great bocce ball courts and outdoor atmosphere
I have mixed feelings, it is a wonderful venue but I like Desert Sky (or whatever they are calling it now) in Phoenix
A little to American for my taste but C.B. has great atmosphere and outstanding parties
The farmer's market is one of the best
Great place for an outdoor event right off a small town main street
With a children's train and carousel this is the best place to spend a sunny afternoon with kids
I can't pull myself away from calling it Pac Bell
This is one of the best Happy Hour spots you are going to find
But a little too white table cloth for my taste
But what can I say, I miss "Desert Sky"
Not a bad seat in the house but feels smaller than it should be (for an arena)
