Ruth Davies’ Blues Night with special guest Charlie Musselwhite

The jazz artists in this trio are much more than mere masters of their instruments: They’re trailblazers, heroes to a new generation of fans and musicians who cite them as major influences and inspirations. Bassist Victor Wooten is a founding member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, with whom he’s broadened the definition of jazz and developed amazing new techniques for the electric bass. Keyboardist Geoffrey Keezer landed a job with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers before he reached his second year… Show more at Berklee, but he’s been turning heads ever since with his creative collaborations and varied musical directions, both electric and acoustic. As an educator, drummer Ndugu Chancler has been one of the cornerstones of the Stanford Jazz Camp for many years; as a performer, he was the foundation for Weather Report, George Duke, Michael Jackson, and many other great artists. All three are teaching at the 2012 Stanford Jazz Camp, and will be bringing something special to this evening’s performance.
