Stanford Stadium was originally built in 1921 at a cost of $573,470 and a capacity of 60,000. It was completed in 132 days. In 1929, the top 25 rows were built. In 1960, the press box was completed, and in 1973 the west tunnels were dug. The most recent major renovations were completed in the summer of 1999.
