Climate scientist Emily Shuckburgh, from the British Antarctic Survey, delivers the second in the international series of Simons Public Lectures on the Mathematics of Planet Earth. She is the leader of the Open Oceans research group that focuses on understanding the role of the polar oceans in the global climate system. She will explain how the tools of science are being applied to the challenge of understanding the climate, what uncertainties we face, and what to do about those uncertainties.
