Smith Andersen North presents photography from the students of the California School of Fine Arts (renamed the San Francisco Art Institute in 1961) between 1945-1955. Founded and administered by Ansel Adams and Minor White in 1945, the program was the first in the country to teach photography as a profession. Its importance and influence has been far-reaching, lasting well into the 21st century. The show is presented in conjunction with the release of the book, The Golden Decade.
