Join us for a very special evening at the historic Castro Theater for the 2nd Annual Noor Awards Ceremony and a screening of Waiting for Pasolini. From the Arabic word for "light," the Noor Awards will celebrate filmmakers whose enlightened and original works outshine others in their category. BR
The Noor Awards will be given for the following categories:
Best Feature Fiction;BR
Best Feature Documentary;BR
Best Short Fiction;BR
and Best Short Documentary.
BRThe AFF will also present a Lifetime Achievement Award honoring the work of the late Egyptian film director Youssef Chahine. BR
Following the ceremony, AFF presents the Bay Area premiere of BWaiting for Pasolini/B, the latest feature by Moroccan director Daoud Aoulad-Syad. In this award-winning Morrocan comedy set in Ouarzazate, a location used by countless American and European film productions, the town is turned upside down when it is announced that an Italian film crew will be arriving to shoot.
