Artist Studio Program
The Crucible and the de Young are collaborating with the community to present a public art piece titled Unity with Nature. During the residency, Crucible staff, faculty, and volunteers will work with museum visitors to create a tree inspired by the exhibition Chihuly at the de Young. Visitors will be introduced to the skills of glass fusing and clay forming to create glass leaves and clay tree bark, drawing inspiration from the natural environment around the museum. As the month progresses, the tree will grow with each participant’s personal expression, symbolizing the strength of unity with nature and the interconnection of art, people, and the natural world.
Artists are in the studio Wednesday–Sunday, 1–5 p.m. (except July 4)
Closing Reception Friday, July 25, 6:00–8:30 p.m.
