Cap & Gown Gala takes place at S.F. City Hall and Autodesk's Carol Bartz will be presented with "First in Family Award" for being first in her family to graduate from college.
First Graduate, a San Francisco-based non-profit group, helps young people finish high school and become the first in their families to graduate from college. First Graduate makes a 10-year commitment to these children starting at the beginning of their 7th grade year and continuing until the end of college, including mentoring, tutoring, summer school, community service, high school counseling and college counseling.
Television broadcaster Jan Yanehiro will be the event emcee. The Cap & Gown Gala will feature live jazz entertainment in City Hall’s beautiful rotunda, a pomp and circumstance procession with our high school seniors, the First In Family Award presentation and more. Attendees will also enjoy gourmet hors d'oeuvres and buffet provided by McCall’s Catering and open bar service.
