Mister Loveless, a veritable Frankenstein's monster of genres, composed of alternative rock, surf instrumentals, post-punk, no wave, and countless other styles is a four- piece band hailing from California's East Bay.
Though the namesake has existed for nearly five years, the band in its current incarnation (Rachael Travers, Charlie Koliha, Sean Gaffney, Rob Miller) has existed for two. Shortly after they released their full length debut, "My Share of Losing" in 2006..
On April 13th, 2007,the band made their first live appearance in nine months to debut the new line up and material they had written together. They toured the Northwest that summer, and upon returning, began pre-production for their new EP, "Two Words."
The new EP marks a rebirth for Mister Loveless. It consists of four tracks, each displaying a different aspect of the group. The songs range from dark, western sing-a-longs reminiscent of Echo and the Bunnymen or Nick Cave; to punk-energy, surf guitar driven rock n’ roll, not unlike that of the Pixies. The eclectic blend of instrumentation is all tied together with lyrical themes of the death of innocence and suburban anxiety.
