EV-O-LU-TION is defined as “A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form”.
After years of performing in various projects, Lynn & Michael met and began writing and performing together in February of 2007. Their collaboration has manifested music that is soulful and heart felt. With their diverse musical backgrounds, Asher & LaMacchia weave jazz, blues, rock and country throughout their original material.
Lynn Asher (fresh off her tour with BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY) was born in Portland, Maine and for the past fourteen years has called San Francisco her home. She has performed and or recored with BIG BROTHER & the HOLDING COMPANY, Producer/vocalist Raz Kennedy (Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra), Producer/drummer Narada Michael Walden (Whitney, Aretha, Mariah), Hall of Fame recipient & founding member of The Talking Heads, Jerry Harrison, Bob Weir of Ratdog,guitarist/composer, Michael LaMacchia, and guitarist/vocalist James Moseley.
Her influences range from icons Janis Joplin & Aretha Franklin to Melissa Etheridge, Lucinda Williams and Patty Griffin.
Michael LaMacchia was born in Kenosha Wisconsin, then moved to San Francisco at 18 and began his musical career. He has explored styles including, brazilian, jazz, african, latin, classical and pop. He has a special way of bridging these worlds musically together, creating a unique sound that is personal and passionate.
He has played with many of the Bay Area's/worlds finest musicians, Alan Hall, Scott Amendola, Paul Van Wageningen, Jim Ogios (Sheryl Crow, Counting Crows), Deszon Claiborne, Lex Reazon (Vinyl), Todd Sickafoose, Derek Jones, Dan Fieszli, Sam Bevan, Dann Zinn, Matt Renzi, Jon Arkin, Mark Bernfield, Matt Huelitt, Andy Stohler (Tracey Chapman), Kim Nalley (Pearls), Sandy Griffith, Drew Young, Edo Castro, Niels Mryner, Steve Bennett, Taylor Cutcomb, Andy Dillard, Aurea Fernandez, and Lisa Kindred.
Michael is also known for his beautiful poetry, song writing, studio & production work & Music Development Program, Crossroads.
