“Updated 1930-40's Jazz, with a few covers of Django Reinhardt thrown in as a garnish.”

Vive Le Jazz! (formerly known as The Very Hot Club) is a modern-day Quintette based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
George Cole, Kathy Sierra, Vic Wong, Julian Smedley and Carla Kay create an irresistible blend of nostalgia and cutting edge modernity. To understand the genesis of Vive Le Jazz!, it's crucial to know a bit about the Quintette du Hot Club de France. That group took their name from a famous Parisian cafe, and are still lauded by music historians as the greatest European jazz band. It was a revolutionary lineup fronted by legendary Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, with violinist Stephane Grappelli and two acoustic rhythm guitarists - Joseph Reinhardt and Roger Chaput - plus the double bass of Louis Vola. Today's Vive Le Jazz! melds this rich past with the present. Led by guitarist/vocalist/songwriter George Cole , Vive Le Jazz! chooses not to imitate or reproduce the music of Reinhardt or Grappelli. They instead renew the original concept, writing new songs in a style that captures the spirit of a time when popular taste and art coincided.
