The Blue Sky Band originally formed in the late 1970’s. As it happens so often members of the band went on to different projects, with each member pursuing individual musical efforts and accomplishments, including recording contracts, Bammie Awards and songwriting publishing contracts.

Reunited after 20 years, they are playing together, with a renewed desire to perform again. With years of experience between them they are back playing one of their first loves “Rhythm and Blues.”

Bob Langlie is Blue Sky’s lead singer and saxophone player and the bands official spokesman. Bob has performed in many bands including the Bammie award winning “Chris Loiter And The Hangouts” as not only a player but also as the producer of their first album, Old Time Night. Bob has worked in some of the top recording studios in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as owning his own studio. Bob is known for working the crowd with his soulful-bluesy voice and his lively stage presence.

Michael Grosenheider is the lead guitarist with the band, he is a veteran of several rock and country bands. Michael was also a member of “Cris Loiter And The Hangouts.” He has continued with songwriting and has had songs published both locally and in Nashville. Michael has written and collaborated with Taz Di Gregorio of “The Charlie Daniels Band.” With his southern influences, Michael brings a variety of guitar styles to “Blue Sky.”

Greg Sankovich is “Blue Sky’s” keyboard player. First joining at the age of 14. His special talent was evident right from the start bringing a wide range of musical styles to the band. Greg went to plain in CAL Berkeley’s jazz band. Ending up in Tokyo, Japan touring and recording for Colombia Records. On his return to the states Greg also plays in and helped produce “Chris Loiters” second album, Bammie nominee “Red radio.”

Playing as base guitar for “Blue Sky Band” is Ron Logan. Ron has stayed busy playing and recording in many local top 40 bands as well as touring bands. With his melodic soulful bass style Ron brings a rich, full, and warm bottom end to the band.
Rob Howe has the ability to sound like 2 drummers at times, falling back on his early southern influences. His ability to lock in to Ron’s bass rounds out the “Blue Sky” sound. Rob has kept up his playing over the years by performing and recording in local top 40 and country bands.

Lincoln Adler started playing various musical instruments at the age of 5, eventually being drawn to the saxophone in high school. Lincoln became fascinated by the power of music to communicate feelings across the boundaries of language and culture. He developed his sound playing in local bands, and refined his abilities at the University of California, Berkeley as a member of the UC Jazz Ensembles. He studied with some great teachers, including legendary saxophonist Joe Henderson and local hero Hal Stein. In Los Angeles he became an in-demand session player and composer/producer for TV and film. He released four albums under his own name as well as one with the successful band Rain-bo Tribe. Lincoln has performed and recorded with many artists including actor/pianist Jeff Goldblum, kd lang, and Olivia Newton John.
