James Swinson and Tania Fardella first met at an open mic at the Starry Plough in Berkeley, CA in 1997, and began playing music together as “The Wildflowers” in late 1998. They've spent years honing their sound: a unique blend of double rhythm guitar/vocal harmony in the indie-rock/power-pop traditions.
Drawing comparisons to such diverse bands such as X, The Replacements, and The Byrds, they formed “Rockinghorse” in 2002, playing original songs written by Swinson, both as an acoustic duo, as well as with a full band.
Their debut album "Electric LALA Land," released in September 2007, teams Swinson & Fardella with Scott & Jeff Saulovich on lead guitar and drums, and Guy Michel on bass.
