Brett “King” Cosby has performed in the roles of a drummer/sideman and band leader in the Bay Area since 1978 with some of the most influential musicians of Northern California, covering nearly every style of music and every type of venue. He has performed with members of Santana, Tower of Power and the legendary Pharoah Sanders.
Jack Pollard is an accomplished vocal stylist with 40 years of performance experience. Jack performed with a vocal quintet that opened for The Whispers, and shared the bill with The Temptations. He specializes in Jazz, Blues, and R&B and interweaves the styles to create a performance that appeals to a wide audience. His exceptional vocal talent, versatility and on-stage charisma have endeared him to many fans. Delight in the sweet influences of Lou Rawls, Johnny Hartman and Nat King Cole.
Doug McKeehan, trained in classical piano, has been playing jazz in the Bay area for the past 20 years at such venues as the Great American Music Hall, Yoshi’s, and Herbst Theater, as well as steady engagements at San Francisco’s Fairmont, Park 55, and the Convention Center Marriott hotels. With Brett Cosby he co-produced the King Cosby Group album “Journey to the One”. Doug lives in Oakland, where he runs his own recording studio and keeps looking for that hit right around the corner.
Karl Hartman, an electric and double bassist, has had the good fortune to perform and record with many of the Bay Area’s finest as well as some of the most important names in modern jazz. He’s performed all over the Bay Area in restaurants and clubs including Yoshi’s in Oakland and the San Jose Jazz Festival. He’s also played in New Orleans and at the Umbria and Montreux Jazz festivals and has toured China, Switzerland and Italy.
John Christensen, professional trumpeter and music educator for 32 years, currently resides in Martinez, California. He performs and teaches all styles of music ranging from classical to modern contemporary jazz. John has performed in opening acts for Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, Ray Charles, Joe Williams, Lou Rawls, Nancy Wilson and Earl Kluh to name a select few.
Pete Cornell is one of the most versatile hornmen in Northern California. Playing all the saxes, flute and clarinet, he has performed with Glen Campbell, Ben Vereen, and Helen Reddy. He has performed at the Monterey, San Francisco, and San Jose Jazz Festivals several times. Cornell is appearing every Monday night with the “Contemporary Jazz Orchestra” at Jazz at Pearls in North Beach.
