Janet Popesco Archibald holds the position of Solo English Horn with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.
A San Francisco native, she attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music & received her Bachelor & Master of Music degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
She has participated in the Aspen, Tanglewood & Elkhorn at Sun Valley, Idaho music festivals.
As a fellowship participant at Yale University's Norfolk Chamber Music Festival she was hailed by the New York Times as a 'particularly impressive' young artist.
Janet served as Principal Oboe of the San Francisco Opera's touring affiliate, the Western Opera Theater Orchestra, for 5 national tours. For
many years she served as Principal Oboe of the Lake Tahoe Summer Music Festival and for 22 years she was a member of the faculty of the San
Francisco Conservatory's Preparatory/Adult Extension department.
She also has been a member of the music faculty at both San Francisco State University and the University of CA at Santa Cruz.
Her recording credits include the soundtracks for the films 'Once Upon a time in Mexico', 'Ricochet' 'Young Indiana Jones Chronicles' & 'Into the Wild', and the Grammy-nominated cd recording of Gluck's opera, 'Orphee &
Eurydice' with the San Francisco Opera.
Margaret Wong Jennings, pianist, has devoted her adult years to finessing the art of accompanying, chamber music, and teaching. A former student
of John McCarthy, Anne Crowden and Janet Guggenheim, she earned a BA with honors in chamber music from UC Berkeley. This was followed by an
auspicious grant, the Hertz Fellowship, which enabled her to pursue postgraduate studies with John Wilson at the Royal Northern College of
Music in Manchester, United Kingdom.
After residing in the United Kingdom for 10 years, she has recently returned to her hometown of San
Francisco to form the Lowell Trio.
Leslie Chin,a native of California,was born in San Francisco and grew up in Santa Cruz. She is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and the New England Conservatory of Music.
Leslie is a member of the Pacific Chamber Symphony, Fremont Symphony, Festival Opera Orchestra, and performs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area with groups such as the Oakland Eastbay Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, California Symphony, West Bay Opera, Pocket Opera, Lamplighters, and San Francisco Lyric Opera.
In addition, she has performed in the Broadway shows Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Lion King, Wicked, and Edward Scissorhands.
She toured for six years as principal flute with Western Opera Theater (the former touring affiliate for San Francisco Opera). During the past four years, as a member the Fog City Wind Quintet (2002), the HighLows Quartet (2003), the Five Chairs Wind Quintet (2004), and the Bellavente Wind Quintet (2005-2007) she has performed over 140 concerts during each school year for elementary school-age children in the San Francisco Public schools as part of the San Francisco Symphony’s Adventures in Music Program.series,
An experienced recording artist, she has performed on orchestral movie scores, commercials, videos and games.
