Infant/Toddler Learning and Development Frameworks Seminar
This seminar, offered in local communities across California, provides an overview of the California Infant/Toddler Curriculum Framework, published in 2012 by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division. Designed to support continuous improvement efforts of infant/toddler programs, the seminar will help participants to:
Understand the connection between the components of the California Infant/Toddler Learning and Development… Show more System, including the Foundations, Program Guidelines, and Curriculum Framework;
Recognize and support the central role of families in young children’s learning and development;
Create high-quality learning environments which effectively support early learning;
Plan effective infant/toddler curriculum; and
Promote infants’ and toddlers’ active exploration, well-being, and long-term success.
This seminar will present information about the importance of responsive, individualized care that is grounded in children’s secure relationships with their families and primary caregivers. Participants will explore and become familiar with the California Infant/Toddler Curriculum Framework as a means of supporting effective planning in the ongoing cycle of observing, documenting, reflecting, and implementing appropriate curriculum.
