Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to Berkeley this spring for its annual Cal Performances residency, dancing four distinct programs over seven performances from Tuesday-Sunday, April 23-28 at Zellerbach Hall. The company’s appearance features two Bay Area premieres, one choreographed by artistic director Robert Battle and the other by Kyle Abraham. The engagement also includes a program of excerpts from Alvin Ailey, choreographed classics from the 1970s and 1980s.
