Al Young, former California poet laureate who holds that all sacred books are composed in poetry, will discuss this idea in his talk on language, marketing, global discourse and awareness. Widely translated, Young’s many books include poetry, fiction, essays, anthologies, and musical memoirs. Honors include NEA, Fulbright, and Guggenheim Fellowships, The Richard Wright Award for Literary Excellence and, most recently, the 2011 Thomas Wolfe Award.
