Yarira! The Music and Dance of Zimbabwe

MBIRA joins with Chinyakare Ensemble to bring you and evening of traditional Shona music and dance. Enjoy the sounds of the mbira played by local musicians and get ready for the dynamic high-energy marimba, dance and drumming of Julia Chigamba and her company. This event is a fundraiser in support of MBIRA's mission to celebrate and sustain the ancient musical traditions of Zimbabwe. The proceeds of this event will directly support 200 Zimbabwean musicians who earned less than $100 in 2012.
