Last of the Red Hot Lovers

Barney Cashman, a middleaged, married nebbish restaurateur, a gentle soul with no experience in adultery or the sexual revolution, has decided he wants to have an affair. He selects his mother’s uptown apartment for the rendezvous because his mother will be out doing volunteer work two hours every week. The play takes one comedic turn after another as Barney continues to be unsuccessful in his choice of partners. Barney is a man who fell in love with his high school sweetheart and knew no other girl… Show more before he married. But now, he’s convinced he might have missed a great deal, and has decided he needs a break from his 23-year-old marriage. But when one of his choices arrives, we see how shy and nervous he is, and he fails in each of the three seductions.
