The Huichol tribe in the states of Jalisco and Nayarit in Mexico are world renown for their bright and beautiful yarn paintings and beadwork. Their work is created by placing a thin layer of beeswax and tree resin over word and then pressing yarn or seed beads in to the mixture. The imagery in each piece is symbolic of healing, protection and/or gratitude.
Luciano Valdez receives 100% of the proceeds from this show. This is our way of supporting his remote ceremonial center village.
